ISLAMABAD – International Cricket Council will not be happy over India’sdefeat against New Zealand in World Cup semifinals, Former New Zealandcricket captain-turned-commentator Jeremy Coney has claimed.
He has claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) won’t bepleased with India’s loss against New Zealand in the 2019 ICC World Cupsemi-final on Wednesday.
According to a sports journalist Saj Sadiq, Coney said that the governingbody of cricket would have preferred India and England in the final of themega event.
“I don’t think ICC will be happy that New Zealand have beaten India” Coneyis reported to have said on Radio Sport.
Earlier, Coney had also criticized the pitch used for the semi-finalbetween India and New Zealand, calling it sticky and slow which made timingdifficult due to the erratic bounce.
