ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government is ready to savebillions through country’s biggest austerity drive in history.
According to Dunya News sources, government has planned to save Rs 40billion by adopting austerity. Under the austerity drive government isplanning to freez salaries of government servants. The government is alsoconsidering not to increase salaries of bureaucrats like military officers.Imran Khan led government is also considering not to increase budget for,president house, PM house, governor houses and parliamentarians. Governmentmay increase salaries of employees till grade 16.
The sources said government would cut all unnecessary expenditures, addingthat there would be a ban on purchase of new cars and air conditioners ingovernment sector.
