A worst blow to the family of slain journalist Arshad Sharif

In an unexpected turn of events, a local court in the federal capital issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Samia Arshad, the widow of the late senior journalist Arshad Sharif. Arshad Sharif, a prominent journalist and former anchor for ARY News, met a tragic end in Nairobi, Kenya, on October 23 while living in self-imposed exile.
The arrest warrants were authorized by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah due to the failure of Samia Arshad and 18 others to appear as witnesses in the Arshad Sharif murder case.
Among the witnesses listed in the FIR filed on behalf of the state investigating the murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif are Arshad Sharif’s wife, son, producer Ali Usman, and 16 others. It's noteworthy that the family of the deceased journalist has distanced themselves from this FIR, asserting that it was registered without their request, and they have already rejected it.
The situation surrounding the murder case has also drawn attention from Kenyan investigative journalist Brian Obuya, who has expressed concerns regarding the prolonged delay in obtaining findings from the investigation into Arshad Sharif's murder.
Brian Obuya has criticized the investigative team, noting that they have taken an extensive amount of time to complete their probe into the Arshad Sharif murder case. This ongoing delay has raised questions about the transparency and efficiency of the investigation process.
As the legal proceedings continue and the warrants for Samia Arshad and others stand, the case remains a subject of scrutiny and public interest, with many eagerly awaiting updates on the progress of this high-profile investigation.
