Mushtaq Sukhera appointment challenged in LHC

LAHORE – Former Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Sukhera’s appointment as federal tax ombudsman has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Local lawyer Safdar Advocate adopted stance in the petition that appointment of Mushtaq Sukhera is violation of federal ombudsman act.
He cited that any retired officer cannot be appointed on the said post before completing two years’ period.
He prayed the court to nullify appointment of Mushtaq Sukhera and also issue directives regarding stopping him from performing the duties till the court verdict.
