Former COAS Qamar Bajwa and former DG ISI Faiz Hameed land in trouble

The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javaid, and former Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hamid.

This action stems from a complaint filed by a concerned citizen who has sought the registration of an FIA case against both retired military officers. The complaint alleges that Qamar Javaid and Faiz Hamid violated the law by engaging in activities and giving interviews that revealed sensitive information after their retirement, which they were legally bound not to disclose.

It's important to mention here that these former military officers especially former COAS Qamar Bajwa was involved in giving series of interviews to the media indirectly through some journalists whereby they made some startling revelations on the issues faced by country during their tenure.

This legal move underscores the importance of upholding the law and the boundaries associated with retired military officials. In Pakistan, the military has traditionally held significant influence, and this case demonstrates the judiciary's commitment to ensuring accountability and adherence to legal obligations even for high-ranking former military personnel.
