AB De Villiers record for the fastest ODI century broken

South Australia Jake Fraser-McGurk broke the world record of former South African captain Abraham de Villiers by scoring the fastest One Day International (ODI) century.

During Australia's List A tournament, the Marsh Cup, 21-year-old Jake Fraser-McGurk scored a century off 29 balls, breaking Abraham de Villiers' world record for the fastest century in List A matches.

De Villiers had previously set the record in 2015 by scoring a century off 31 balls. Fraser-McGurk had already made an impact in 2019 when he scored half-centuries in both Sheffield Shield and One Day Cup for Victoria at just 17 years of age.

It's important to note that in the Marsh Cup match, Tasmania achieved victory against South Australia by a margin of 37 runs.
