Thousands of Indian Sikhs wait for Modi government decision for re opening of Kartarpur corridor

In India, thousands of Sikhs are waiting for the decision of Modi government regarding re-opening of Kartarpur Corridor to attend the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

The Corridor was inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on November 9, 2018 allowing visa-free access to Sikh pilgrims from India to visit their holy shrine.

The establishment of the Corridor reflects Pakistan's continued commitment to facilitating Sikh pilgrims.

The Indian Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, in a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked him to immediately reopen the corridor as there is now considerable improvement in the COVID situation.

The Founder of Sikh Religion Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent last 18 years of his life at Kartarpur.
