MQM Pakistan, PSP announce to contest next polls on one name, one symbol

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM Pakistan) and the Pak Sarzameen Party have announced to contest the next elections on one name and one symbol.

Addressing a joint press conference on Wednesday, MQM Pakistan chairman Farooq Sattar said that they will jointly take political struggle ahead.

He said that the objective of the press conference is to stop division in the vote bank, while another objective is to make pace of the city durable.

“We will get restored the lost dignity of word ‘Bhai’. Karachi needs joint efforts,” he said.

The MQM Pakistan chief said that the objective of the alliance is to provide a unified leadership. “We hope that we will get back our offices,” he added.

PSP chief Mustafa Kamal said that the new identity will not be the MQM. “We will also invite other parties to join the alliance,” he added.

He said that the name of the alliance will be decided in the next meeting.
