DIG Hamid Shakeel martyred in Quetta blast

QUETTA - Senior police official DIG Hamid Shakeel was martyred in a blast along with two others in Quetta’s Chaman Housing Scheme on Thursday morning.
The senior official’s convoy was targeted, as a result of which seven sustained injuries, including three passersby. The injured have been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Quetta for immediate treatment.
“Three individuals have embraced martyrdom including Hamid Shakeel and his driver,” provincial government spokesperson Anwar Ul Haq Kakar told Reuters.
Shakeel was on his way to work in the provincial capital when the bomb exploded, targeting his vehicle, Balochistan police Inspector General Moazzam Jah told Reuters. Three police officials were seriously wounded, he added.
