ISLAMABAD – Ayesha Gulalai Wazir announced her decision on Monday to hold a protest rally on GT road from Islamabad to Lahore.
The lawmaker addressed a press conference and expressed that she would lead a rally on 12th of May, revealing that the protest was against corruption, contempt of court, poor educational system, load-shedding and to highlight rights of women, workers and poor farmers in Pakistan.
The rally would culminate at the famous Mochi Gate Lahore, she added.
It is pertinent to mention that former premier, Nawaz Sharif had also taken almost the same route in his homecoming rally after his disqualification in the Panama Papers case, though he ended his rally at Data Darbar, Lahore.
Ayesha Gulalai had announced her decision to launch her own political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Gulalai (PTI-G) in January 2018 and has been garnering media spotlight to gain ground ahead of the upcoming elections.
