AGRA: A portrait of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was displayed at the same spot at Aligarh’s PWD where the portrait of the founder of AMU, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan used to hang till it disappeared mysteriously on last Friday.
According to PWD officials, the PM’s photo has been put up in the orders of the state government. They said that a portrait of UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, is also displayed there as per the orders.
However, the officials were silent as to why the portrait of Sir Syed was removed and where it was right now.
Aligarh district magistrate, CB Singh had stated on Saturday that he has sought a report from the SDM on disappearance of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s portrait. However, the report has not been received till date.
The DM, however, said, “PWD guest house is a state property and pictures of PM, CM have been put up as per protocol”.
