Turkey and Russia will start joint patrols in Syria's Idlib province.
This was stated by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar in an interview with the state-run Anadolu news agency.
He said the joint patrols in the de-escalation zone will be an important step for maintaining cease-fire and ensuring stability.
Hulusi Akar denied the reports about Turkey's direct contact with Syrian government, saying Ankara is only holding talks with Russia and Iran when needed.
He said Russia should prevent the Syrian regime from carrying out attacks on Idlib.
