As per a report in *Times Now <link>*, an agent had organised a wild boar hunting for Saif Ali Khan without permission and licences. But Bulgaria’s hunting laws require foreigners to hold a hunting license from their own country or pass a test in Bulgaria to receive one.

“The actor is a witness in a hunting case probed by the Bulgarian police. After the communication from Interpol was received, the crime branch, Bandra unit, was asked to record the actor’s statement. A team of the Mumbai Crime Branch sleuths from the unit visited the actor’s suburban residence and recorded his statement,” a source informed *The Indian Express <link>.*

“The agent has been booked for organising a hunt without the requisite permits and licence. Interpol has sought details on the case from the actor,” added the source. [image: PHOTO: PROKERALA]

In India, it is not possible to get a hunting licence as the practice itself is banned under the Wildlife Protection Act.

A senior official told *Times of India* that a notice has been forwarded to Saif but his statement has not been recorded yet. “We got some documents from Interpol through the CBI, which is India’s nodal agency for the Interpol. We have forwarded them to the actor. We have not recorded his statement,” the source shared.

In April, Saif was summoned to court for a high-profile blackbuck poaching case. With fellow actor Salman Khan as the main accused, Saif, Tabu, Neelam and others were deemed as witnesses of the incident while shooting for their 1998 family drama, *Hum Saath Saath Hain.*

While Salman was acquitted in the case, Saif walked free of charges.
