Former PML N lawmaker Nazia Raheel awarded PTI ticket even without applying

ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Nazia Raheel hinted that she may take legal action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for ‘wrongly allocating’ her a party ticket to contest from the Toba Tek Singh’s PP-122.

Responding to the PTI’s list of provincial candidates for the 2018 general elections, Mrs Raheel said, “I am consulting with my lawyer and I may take legal course against PTI.”

“It is clear that PTI has foreseen the defeat and they are now using such malicious attempts to break our local alliance. Our force will only strengthen after such actions,” she responded when asked why she was allotted a PTI ticket despite being a PML-N candidate.

Mrs Raheel confirmed that she had only requested a party ticket from the PML-N. It should be noted here that she is a two-time member of the Punjab Assembly from PP-88.

She added, “My political rivals used it as a ploy against me. I have always contested elections from the PML-N’s platform and will do so this time too.”

PTI has announced 173 candidates for National Assembly, 81 for KP Assembly, 21 for Sindh Assembly, 21 for Balochistan Assembly, and 165 for Punjab Assembly.
