-Only one Pakistani university among QS Top 500 Universities

The international ranking organisation QS World University Rankings, has released its rankings for higher education institutes for 2018. The National University of Science and Technology is ranked among the top 500 universities according to QS rankings. Punjab University is nowhere to be seen in the whole ranking list.
As for the other countries of the world, Pakistan s neighbour India has 8 universities in the top 500 universities of the world while China has 21, Taiwan has 11, Saudi Arabia has 4 aand Malaysia has 5 univerisities in the top 500 universities.
The QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by the the British company Quacquarelli Symonds. The publication gives universities an overall rank and also gives a subject-wise ranking consisting of 46 different subjects. The QS World University Rankings has received the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) approval and is the only international ranking to have done so.
The universities in QS World University Rankings are ranked according to six indicators; faculty/student ratio, research work, academic reputation, international student ratio, international staff ratio, employer reputation.
In the rankings for 2018, the top ten universities consist of five American universities, four British universities, and one Swiss university. The top three universities are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and Harvard University.
