I am back home with new spirits: PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Saturday said that the government was committed to its development agenda and sit-ins were no solution to the problems.

The prime minister was talking to the anchors of private television channels in a brief informal chat after he landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport along with spouse Kulsoom Nawaz after he recuperated from open heart surgery.

To a question, the prime minister said he had been performing his prime ministerial responsibilities while being in London too and had returned home with a new spirit.

Paying tribute to great humanitarian late Abdul Sattar Edhi, he said the government would also make a history of public service.

The prime minister went to London on May 22 and underwent an open heart surgery on May 31. He was discharged from the hospital on June 6 but he stayed in London until the doctors allowed him air travel.

Later, Maryam Nawaz Sharif on her Twitter handle shared the moments of the prime minister's arrival at his residence in Raiwind.

The video as well as the images shared by her showed the prime minister's mother kissing and embracing him.

"Much awaited homecoming. Shukar Alhamdolillah. (Thanks Allah). Mother's prayers change the fate," she said in her tweets.
