CPJ calls on Jammu & Kashmir police to drop charges against journalist

Committee to Protect Journalists, a US-based independent watchdog body, has called on the Indian authorities in occupied Kashmir to immediately cease all legal proceedings against journalist Asif Sultan and release him from jail.

Indian police have filed a charge-sheet against illegally detained journalist, Asif Sultan, along with nine others in a false case.

Sultan has been jailed since August 27, 2018, after he wrote a story for the Kashmir Narrator magazine on Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani.
