Pakistan is importing petroleum products worth $16 billions annually

ISLAMABAD - Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan has said that exploration of oil and gas will be given preference in order to support and strengthen the national economy.

Addressing a function in Rawalpindi today (Saturday), he regretted that the exploration was not given preference in the past and that is why country is spending sixteen billion dollars annually on import of petroleum products.

He pointed out that we import eighty-five percent of petroleum products from abroad.

The Minister assured that any project in the petroleum sector will be executed with complete transparency and no compromise will be made on quality.
