KP govt approves Rs150mln for preservation of Kalash tribe culture in Chitral

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a grant of one hundred and fifty million rupees for preservation of Kalash tribe culture in Chitral.

A spokesman of provincial government told our Peshawar correspondent that a committee has been set up for the protection of unique culture of Kalash tribe.

It includes director of Archeology Department KP, representatives from UNESCO and local population.

UNESCO has last week declared the culture of Kalash community in Pakistan as Universal cultural heritage.
