Madadgar 15 to be upgraded for public service

KARACHI (APP): The Madadgar 15 would be upgraded in three months' time. This was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.d. Khawaja, during a visit to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday.

The IGP also informed that besides installation of CCTV cameras at the selected places in the metropolis, steps are also being taken for the maintenance of the cameras.

He stated that there is considerable decrease in crimes in Karachi especially the incidents of demand for `bhatta'. The hustle bustle in the city is being restored.

Khawaja further stated that recruitment in the police would be ensured on the basis of merit.

He announced that after completion of training, 4,700 personnel of traffic police would become part of the police force.

IGP said that Karachi police facing shortage of 20,000 personnel.

A summary would soon be forwarded to the Chief Minister for recruitment of 10,000 personnel soon.

Quoting CPLC statistics, the IGP maintained that there is 24 percent decrease in street crimes in Karachi.

IGP said that the police and the Rangers are jointly taking action against crimes.
