Lt General (R) Tariq Khan had agreed to become head of inquiry commission before the announcement by government

ISLAMABAD - Government source have revealed that Lt Gen (retd) Tariq Khan was consulted prior to his nomination for the inquiry commission.

However he has excused to head a commission probing the alleged foreign conspiracy.

The federal cabinet had announced the appointment of Lt Gen (retd) Tariq Khan as the head of the commission. He has informed the government about his decision.

The commission had been given 90 days to probe into the conspiracy.

During the meeting, the Foreign secretary opposed to make the threatening letter public. "Making the threatening letter public will be violation of the Secret Act," he added.
