PTI believes in autonomy of institutions

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability, Shahzad Akbar said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government believed in autonomy of institutions.

Talking to a private news channel, he said it was the policy of the incumbent government that the institutions should work freely without any political interference.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB), he said, was not a cat’s paw of the government and working independently. The institutions had been influenced by the previous government for their notorious aims.

Hamza Shehbaz, he said, was on temporary bail till April 17, adding if the NAB convinced the court through arguments, then the bail would be canceled.

Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz were involved in fake remittances and could not satisfy the court on it, he added.

If someone was involved in corruption cases, he should prove himself innocent, he emphasized.

Shahzad Akbar further stated that he was ready for forensic audit of his cell to prove that he had no link with NAB actions.
