ISLAMABAD – The second round of the Moscow format consultations onAfghanistan kicked off in Moscow on Friday.
Addressing participants at the conference, Russian Foreign Minister SergeyLavrov said the meeting is meant to seek paths to national reconciliationin Afghanistan.
Delegations from twelve countries are participating in the conference.
A high-level Pakistani delegation led by Additional Secretary is alsopresent at the gathering.
The meeting marks the first time the Taliban and Afghan government meet fordirect talks at a high level.
United States, China, Iran, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are among other participants.
