Pakistan Navy Chief warns enemy over conspiracies

*KARACHI – Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi has warnedthe enemy conspirating against Pakistan.*

*He said certain anti-Pakistan players sought to disturb peace in thecountry.*

“Today Pakistan is facing myriad of security challenges on internal andexternal fronts. On internal front, certain anti Pakistan players seek todisturb peace and harmony in our country.

“Armed Forces of Pakistan are at the forefront of the national resolve oferadicating such elements from the country. Pakistan Navy is also playingits due role as part of ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fassad’ in collaboration withPakistan Army, PAF and other Law Enforcement Agencies,” he said in amessage on Pakistan Navy Day, which is being oberved today to pay tributesto the Ghazis and war heroes whose sacrifices and gallant acts instilled arenewed spirit in the nation.

The Naval chief said September 8, the Navy Day, was reminiscent of aglorious chapter in the nation’s history when unmatched courage andunwavering commitment of men in whites quashed the pipe dreams andmisplaced ambitions of our adversary.

Pakistan Navy through a bold and daring Operation Somnath attacked IndianRadar Station at Dwarka; and right at the onset of the war gainedpsychological ascendancy and subsequently a single prowling submarine,PNS/M GHAZI maintained unchallenged superiority at sea throughout the war,he said.

“This effectively led to the might of the Indian Fleet including theirAircraft Carrier being confined inside the harbours,” he added

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said prevalent international environmentcontinued to be dynamic and in a state of flux. Pakistan Navy, through itsinitiatives and diverse engagements with regional and extra regional navieshad emerged as a key player in the region’s collaborative maritime securityparadigm, he said.

“In order to pursue national interests with strategic autonomy, PakistanNavy has instituted Regional Maritime Security Patrols in the IOR, in linewith UN Resolutions and UN Charter on Law of the Seas (UNCLOS) with an aimto maintain a robust security posture in critical maritime areas and chokepoints of the IOR,” he said.
