Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), has stated that elections are inevitable in the current national situation. Speaking to senior journalists in Lahore, Maulana Fazlur Rahman mentioned that general elections will take place in the country until the end of February. Campaigning for elections is challenging in tribal areas due to the prevailing circumstances, and the concept of responsible government is not prevalent in democratic countries.
The JUI-F chief further noted that the decision to hold immediate elections was made with the consensus of PDM parties, including MQM, Akhtar Mengal, and others. The People's Party exerted pressure by moving a motion of no-confidence against the PTI Chairman at the last moment; had the People's Party not done so, elections would have already taken place.
He added that those who brought the PTI Chairman into power admitted that their agenda was different, and PTI was brought into power to weaken the country economically.
In summary, Maulana Fazlur Rahman emphasized the inevitability of upcoming elections in Pakistan, despite the challenging circumstances in certain regions and the political maneuvering among various parties. He also highlighted the differing agendas that led to the PTI's rise to power
