In Lahore, Muhammad Khan Bhatti was presented before Administrative Judge Nasim Ahmed Wark in the accountability courts. A physical remand request for Muhammad Khan Bhatti was submitted by NAB, and evidence was presented by the accused's advocate, Amjad Parvez.
NAB contended that the accused, Muhammad Khan Bhatti, was involved in corruption of over 1 billion rupees in 116 development projects in Gujarat through kickbacks received in development contracts. It was alleged that substantial kickbacks, exceeding 1 billion rupees, were obtained in development contracts. Contractor Azmat Hayat was allegedly used for bribery in contracts.
The National Accountability Bureau further stated that the accused, even before the start of construction work, continued to collect commissions by making complete payments to the contractors, and the funds from apparent corruption were being transferred into the personal accounts of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi through Muhammad Khan Bhatti.
Subsequently, after hearing both sides' arguments, the courts decided to keep Muhammad Khan Bhatti in physical remand. After a short while, the court approved a five-day physical remand for the accused and ordered Muhammad Khan Bhatti to be presented again on September 13th.
Speaking to journalists in the courtroom, Muhammad Khan Bhatti claimed his innocence, stating that he had provided all the facts to investigating officers and hoped for complete justice from Allah's house. He expressed hope that the honorable court would also deliver justice.
