KARACHI - Mobile Phone service to stay suspended over Ashura in Karachi and parts of Sindh.
The Sindh government has recommended the closure of mobile phone service on the 9th and 10th Muharram in the province in view of the law and order situation.
Home Secretary Sindh Kabir Qazi has recommended the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to discontinue mobile phone service in the procession and assembly areas.
Internet and mobile service will not be shut down throughout the province. We have also directed all the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to identify the areas.
