Yemen peace talks collapse in Geneva

GENEVA - In Geneva,UN brokered Yemen peace talks have collapsed after three days of waiting for Houthi delegation.

U.N. Special Envoy Martin Griffiths at a press conference in Geneva today, however, did not signify the peace process was deadlocked.

The United Nations envoy vowed to press ahead with diplomacy and said he would meet in coming days with the Houthi leadership in Sanaa and Muscat.

Yemeni foreign minister Khaled al-Yamani, who led the government delegation, at a separate news conference before leaving the Swiss city accused the Houthis of being totally irresponsible and trying to sabotage the negotiations.

Yamani also strongly criticized the UN envoy Griffiths of being not firmer with Houthi's in bringing them to the negotiations.

The Houthi group, on the other hand ,said it was still waiting for the United Nations to guarantee that the flight carrying its delegation to Geneva would not be inspected by Saudi coalition forces and could evacuate some of its wounded.
