Why veteran Indian journalist Kuldeep Nayar ashes have been brought to Pakistan?

ISLAMABAD - Senior Indian journalist Kuldip Nayar ashes have been brought to Pakistan.
His ashes would be immersed in the Lahore’s Ravi river later this month, a private media outlet reported on Friday.
Nayar, who was also a regular columnist for *The Express Tribune*, died at New Delhi’s Escorts Hospital on August 23. He was 95.
Before the immersion, a function would also be organised in which a sapling would be planted at the Government College University, Lahore, according to a press release. Kuldip’s ashes were brought to Pakistan by Pakistani peace activists, including former senior judge Nasir Aslam Zahid, Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research Executive Director Karamat Ali and other members including Haya Eman Zahid and Advocate Altaf Khoso.
