J&K refugees proprietary rights till December

LAHORE (APP): The date for granting proprietary rights for 493 refugee families belonging to Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) has been extended till December 31, 2016.
This was decided in a meeting of the concerned special committee here on Wednesday.

Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja presided over the meeting.
Proprietary rights of Evacuee Rural Agricultural Land available in districts of Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Rawalpindi and Attock will be extended to only those families of Jammu & Kashmir refugees who had already filed references in this regard, on the rate of rupees one thousand per PIU (Unit), as per recommendations of the committee.
Divisional Commissioners of Rawalpindi and Gujranwala will hear the references for settlements.
The Senior Member BoR will inform both the commissioners about policy framework, and SoPs in this regard and will also initiate a summary for approval of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja addressing the meeting, expressed the hope that the relevant commissioners must ensure to inform the concerned quarters of AJ&K refugees regarding the new cut of date for the grant of proprietary rights after which this issue will be windup.
