ISLAMABAD (APP): Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid on Friday said that the government was making all out efforts to control the menace of climate changes in the country.

Addressing an exhibition" Climate Change and Art" organized here at Gallery6, he said that climate change was a major threat to the world especially the south Asian countries were more effected from it.

He appreciated the artists for highlighting the climate effects through their art in fantastic way.

The effects of climate change and global warming on Pakistan, were the melting of glaciers in the Himalayas, threatening the volumetric flow rate of many of the most important rivers of Pakistan.

The purpose of the retreat was to enable development of products (such as paintings, photographs, documentary, short visual stories) which would attract media and individuals for creating awareness about factors leading to climate change and its resultant negative impacts.

The artists and photographers captured beautiful landscapes depicting biodiversity, natural environmental serenity, vulnerability to disasters (like riverside settlements being washed away by floods), degradation of land, birds that are moving away, deforestation, disasters caused by flash floods and many other subjects related to climate change.
