Another inflation shock to consumers, Gas tariffs increased enormously on IMF demands

Islamabad : According to ARY News, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent out a notification about the increase in gas prices in response to an additional request from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The gas tariff has increased by 200%, while it has increased by 172% for domestic consumers, according to the notice released by OGRA. The new rates will take effect on November 1.
For protected domestic consumers, the fixed monthly charges have increased from Rs 10 to Rs 400, a 3900% increase.
The following are the various categories with increased gas tariffs:
Users of 25 cubic meters: Costs rose from Rs 200 to Rs 300 per mmBtu.
Customers utilizing sixty cubic meters: From Rs. 300 to Rs. 600 per mmBtu
Users of 100 cubic meters: Costs rose from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1,000 per mmBtu.
- Consumers using 150 cubic metres: Cost rose From Rs600 to Rs1,200 per mmBtu - Consumers using 200 cubic metres: Cost rose From Rs800 to Rs1,600 per mmBtu - Consumers using 300 cubic metres:Cost rose From Rs1,100 to Rs3,000 per mmBtu - Consumers using 400 cubic metres: Cost rose From Rs2,000 to Rs3,500 per mmBtu - Tandoors: Rs600 per mmBtu (previous rate is maintained) - Power plants: Rs1,050 per mmBtu - Cement sector: Rs4,400 per mmBtu - CNG sector: Rs3,600 per mmBtu - Export units: Rs2,100 per mmBtu - Non-export units: Rs2,200 per mmBtu
