ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said the present government would make efforts for release of Dr Affia Siddiqui, who was detained in the United States.
The matter had been discussed at an official meeting, he stated while talking to a private news channel.
The minister said Dr Afia's imprisonment was a matter of concern for all the political parties. "I want to tell every Pakistani that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will take all possible measures for her release," he added.
To a question, he said all the previous governments had also desired to bring Dr Afia back to her homeland.
