FC taking all possible measures in maintaining law and order in Balochistan

A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior was held at the Parliament House in Islamabad today with its Chairman, Senator Rehman Malik, in the chair.

Inspector General Frontier Constabulary, Major General Nadeem Anjum briefed the meeting that FC is taking all possible measures to cooperate with the Balochistan Government in maintaining law and order in the province.

He said that FC provides security to 70 percent population of Balochistan, polio teams and railways' installations.

Major General Nadeem told the meeting that 5,888 operations were carried out in last two years during which 133 terrorists were killed while 652 surrendered.

Senator Rehman Malik lauded services of FC and said that Indian and Afghan intelligence agencies are colluding against Pakistan and especially active in Balochistan and erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

The Chairman appreciated the people of Balochistan for their cooperation with the law enforcement agencies to foil nefarious designs of the enemies of motherland.

He said FC is not only providing security to the people of Balochistan, but is playing an important role for the provision of health and education facilities.

The Committee unanimously approved a resolution commending excellent performance of Frontier Constabulary and deleberated to increase its budget.
