Saudi FM meets Pakistani civil and military leadership, lauds Islamabad's peace overtures to normalize current situation

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al Jubeir in his meetings with Pakistani civil and military leadership has expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan's peace overtures to normalize current situation. 

During a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad, he acknowledged the role played by Pakistan for regional peace and stability. 

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that newly launched Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council will help build a comprehensive, tangible and result oriented relationship between the two countries. 

He also expressed the confidence that the decisions regarding release of 2107 Pakistani prisoners and increase in Hajj quota to 200,000 will be implemented in a smooth and timely manner. 

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir also called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi. 

Matters of mutual interest, regional security and current situation between Pakistan and India also came under discussion during the meeting.  

The Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability and reaffirmed the Saudi Arabia’s support to Pakistan.          

The Army Chief thanked the Saudi minister for taking on the mantle of peace effort in a very difficult circumstances. 

General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Saudi Arabia has always been a true friend of Pakistan.
