Massive demonstrations held across Occupied Kashmir against Indian authorities

ISLAMABAD - Hurriyat leaders and activists held protest demonstrations in Srinagar, Budgam and other areas, on Friday against the detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, under Public Safety Act (PSA) and ban on Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) , on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership a large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists staged forceful demonstration in Hyderpora, Maisuma, Soura, Lal Bazar and other areas of Srinagar in Indian Occupied Kashmir and staged demonstrations. The protests were attended by Hurriyat leaders including Ameer Hamza Shah, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Rafiq Uwasi, Mohammad Maqbool Magami, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Shakeel Ahmad Butt, Rameez Raja, Mohammad Amin Butt, Imran Ahmad Butt and others, while Aga Syed Akeel Mouswi organized a protest rally in Budgam, which was scheduled to be headed by Aga Syed Hassan Mouswi, but he was put under house arrest by the police. The protesters were holding placards and banners with slogans against India’s oppressive measures. A large number of people including activists of Anjuman-e-Shari Shian also staged a forceful demonstration in Budgam to register protest against the stepped up Indian state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Hurriyat AJK leaders held a protest demonstration in Islamabad, against the detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, under Public Safety Act (PSA) and ban on Jamaat-e-Islami occupied Kashmir besides India’s fiddling with the State Subject Law Article 35-A and intimidating raids by India’s National Investigation Agency in the territory. The purpose of the demonstration was to register protest on the call of the Joint Resistance Leadership in Occupied Kashmir comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
