Pakistan Coast Guard seizes Narcotics worth Rs 800 million

KARACHI: (APP) Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) has recovered 503 kilograms of charas, worth Rs 800 million from a Toyota Hilux, camouflaged at an abandoned house on Gwadar seaside, officials said here Wednesday.
Sharing details of the recovery made Tuesday evening, they said that on a tip off regarding possible smuggling of the contraband drug via the sea route of Gwadar, the area commander of PCG expedited patrolling coupled with strict vigilance of all suspected sites.
It was during the exercise that the haul was made and charas was retrieved from the vehicle, they said mentioning that the drug holding high price in international market has been taken into the custody and needed legal procedures are underway.
Director General, PCG, Brig. Atiq-ur-Rehman has appreciated the team that successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt and has also announced cash prize for the team members.
