Military Courts extension delayed

ISLAMABAD: After the nine-point agenda on military courts’ extension presented by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the matter has again suffered delay.

Negotiations between government and opposition started on Tuesday in which Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Zahid Hamid and Ayaz Sadiq of ruling party met PPP’s Aitezaz Ahsan, Farooq H. Nayak and Naveed Qamar.

The government has decided to agree with some of the points in the PPP’s agenda. National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq also met opposition leader Khurshid Shah and consulted on the matter.

It was decided that negotiations on military courts’ extension will continue. The next session of negotiations on the matter has been delayed till March 9.
