Indian Army soldier on LoC shots himself dead

JAMMU: An Indian soldier on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle along the Line of Control (LoC).

According to Indian media, police sources said that 35 year old sepoy, Roshan Singh, who had been deployed on the LoC in Krishna Ghatti sector, shot himself with his own service rifle. After hearing the noise of gunfire, his colleagues ran toward the scene and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The body was handed over to the respective army unit  following the completion of medico-legal formalities.

It could not be ascertained immediately as to why he had committed suicide, though the Indian army has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
