USA and South Korea starts their largest ever joint military exercise

SEOUL: US and South Korea started their largest ever joint military exercises despite of North Korea’s warning.

Washington Post said “The US and South Korea started huge military exercises on Monday, kicking off drills that will include rehearsing surgical strikes on North Korea’s main nuclear and missile facilities and sending in special forces to carry out ‘decapitation raids’ on the North Korean leadership.”

17,000 US and 300,000 South Korean troops are participating in the drills.

The exercises include a B-2 stealth bomber, nuclear-powered submarine USS North Carolina and nuclear carrier USS John C. Stennis.

The focus of exercises will be striking on North Korean leadership and key facilities.

The code name of exercises is ‘Key Resolve and Foal Eagle’ which will last till the end of April.

The drills come amid when international community has put sanctions on North for its recent nuclear test and missile launch.

North Korea threatened US and South Korea for an indiscriminate preemptive strike on Monday.

The tensions become worst when UN Security Council put sanctions on North’s exports to stop its cash flow.
