NEW DELHI: The All-India-Anti-terrorist Front (AIATF) threatened that it will damage the Dharamshala cricket ground pitch if Pakistan’s cricket team participated in the T20 World Cup on March 19.
President of AIATF Virander Sandila said “If the Pakistan team comes to Dharamshala to play against Indian cricket team, we will dig out the pitch in HPCA (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) stadium.
He claimed that if the Pakistani terrorists can enter the area during the match and if it goes to tie then it would be a disrespect of martyrs of Pathankot and Pampore.
He also claimed to have written letters to PM Modi to lodge a protest.
He said “We will protest against this match in Dharamshala in a big way in the coming days.”
Hindu Extremist Group Shiv Sena also dug up the pitch in Delhi’s Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in 1999.
Pakistan has announced that Pakistan cricket team participation depends on security clearance.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sent a security delegation to visit India and check security arrangements.
The team depends on three members- FIA senior Director Usman Anwar and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief security officer Col. (R) Azam who has crossed the Wagah border on Monday morning while the third member Ubaid Nizamani is already present in India.
