Death anniversary of Abdul Sattar Edhi being observed today

ISLAMABAD: The second death anniversary of prominent Pakistani philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi is being observed on Sunday.

He was born on 28th February 1928 in Gujarat, British India and died on this day in 2016 at the age of eighty eight in Karachi.

Abdul Sattar Edhi founded "Edhi Foundation", which runs the world's largest volunteer ambulance network, along with homeless shelters, animal shelter, rehab centers, and orphanages across Pakistan.

He was honored with several awards on national and international level for his services to the humanity.

After his death, the Edhi Foundation is run by his son Faisal Edhi.
