Caretaker information minister calls for construction of dams

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Information Minister Syed Ali Zafar Shah has called for the construction of dams in the country.

“We have to build dams,” he said during the inauguration ceremony of a water treatment plant at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi. “Every single drop of water has to be saved,” he added.

“Construction of water resources and water conservation are both necessary in Pakistan”

Commenting on the caretaker government’s role in conducting the elections, the caretaker minister said that they only implement the electoral rules.

“The rules are made by the Election Commission of Pakistan,” he added. “We work according to the Article 19 of the Constitution. We have to keep ourselves neutral till the last moment,” Shah continued.

He added that free, transparent and timely elections are the caretaker government’s first priority.

“It is time that we educate the voters,” Shah said. AFP
