PTV paying Rs 7 billion in salaries but at No.18 on national ratings

ISLAMABAD:The Public Accounts Sub-Committee meeting was held at Parliament House under the convenor-ship of MNA Shafqat Mehmood on Wednesday.
Briefing the committee, secretary information informed that Pakistan Television payed more than Rs seven billion to its 5,000 employees per year, while PTV stood at No 18 with reference to rating.
Convenor of committee Shafqat Mehmood said PTV was the only television channel that possessed archived footage, which was sold in big amount, but there was no prominence of the public television channel.
The meeting was also informed that the former chairman was drawing Rs 1.5 million in the head of monthly salary, Rs 2.4 million as entertainment allowance and Rs one million for traveling allowance. Similarly Atta Ul Haq Qasmi was enjoying ride on three vehicles.
The committee directed to present all details of payments to former Managing Director Atta Ul Haq in the next meeting.APP
