Muslim workers fired from US firm over irregular Prayers break

WASHINGTON: Seven  Muslim workers are fired and 14 other Muslims resigned over Prayers schedule dispute.

 

Ariens, A company which makes snow blowers and lawn movers terminated its 7 Muslim employees out of 53.

 

It is reported that the company wants to enforce a new break time schedule which limits Prayer breaks.

 

Seven workers were fired due to leaving their workstations and 14 resigned due to improper break schedule while the remaining 32 decided to adapt the policy.

 

Muslim leaders condemned this act and claimed to file complaints of harassment with US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against the Ariens Company.

 

Ariens claimed that it respects the religious aspects of Muslims and company had religious accommodations including a Prayer room for Muslims.
