Country’s laws provide equal rights to women: Shireen

Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari says a bill to protect the rights of people with disabilities has been approved by cabinet which would be tabled in parliament in its next session.
Addressing a seminar in Islamabad titled “Harassment faced by women with disabilities in Pakistan”, she said there is a provision in the bill for establishing special educational institutions for the severely disabled people.
The Minister said the government is committed to ensure equal access to educational institutions.
She said the government would create awareness about the laws for people who are differently abled.
Dr Mazari said the discrimination against women in Pakistan comes at family and society level not at state level as the country’s laws provide equal rights to women.
