Within hours, LHC removes objections on Hamza Shahbaz petition and fixes for hearing on urgent basis

The Lahore High Court registrar had raised objections on the petition of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif against orders of speaker. Registrar Office had said that orders of the assembly speaker cannot be challenged in the court.

However the Chief Justice removed the objections and the case was heard immediately.

During the hearing, the chief justice remarked that the hearing would be held when the court gets the record [of the house] as the court has to work according to the law and the constitution

PML-N’s counsel said it’s a constitutional problem as the CM Office cannot be left vacant even for a single day.

On this, the chief justice assured them that this is precisely the reason the court removed the registrar’s objection on the petition and it was fixed for hearing today. However, the system should run according to the laws and regulations, he said.
