Govt taking initiatives for youth: Usman Dar

LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar Sunday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had put in place special measures to provide modern education to youth of the country.

Addressing a ceremony regarding Prime Minister’s Youth Programme here, he said that soft technology programmes were being introduced to impart modern training to youth, adding that opportunities were also being provided to the youth for their effective participation in sports which was essential for health.

He said the PTI government was taking a number of initiatives for the youth including poverty graduation programme for the rural and marginalized youth as youth’s

welfare was among top priorities of the government.

“The previous governments did nothing for youth except raising hollow slogans”, he maintained.

The special assistant said that efforts were also being made to introduce a programme for providing employment to youth so that they can contribute to socio-economic uplift of the country.

He said that youth of the country have all the required skills and abilities but it was needed to further polish their skills so that they can explore at all level, adding that the

education system should also be evolved to meet the requirements of modern era.

Usman Dar said that tree plantation campaign had been launched under ‘Clean and Green’ programme, adding that saplings  would be planted in more than 200 universities in the country.

He said the government was taking effective and efficient steps for the revival of economy, and comprehensive economic policy of the PTI government would surely put the country on road to progress and prosperity.
