PIA test flight makes first landing at newly constructed Islamabad Int'l Airport

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan International Airline made the first historic landing at new Islamabad International Airport today.

According to details, the national flag carrier's A-320 took off from Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad this afternoon and in a matter of twenty-five minutes landed at the new Islamabad International Airport.

It was the first mock flight at the new airport.

The new international airport spreads over nineteen square kilometers with fifteen jetties including facilities to accommodate the world's largest airplane.

It has two runways each three point five kilometer long.

It is the biggest international airport of the country in terms of landing and passenger handling facilities. APP/AFP
