SUKKUR (APP): The Sindh Rural Support Organization with collaboration of Rural Support Programme Network observed World Health Day at Mirpur Mathelo under the health communication component project funded by USAID on Saturday,
The Seminar was attended by representatives of national institutions, Sindh health departments, local NGOs, academia, journalists and senior citizens of the region.
Speaking on the seminar, Assistant Commissioner Mathelo, Fiaz Hussain Rahoojo said the day provided a unique opportunity to mobilize action around a specific health topic of concern to people of the region.
He said that depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide. More than 300 million people are reportedly now living with depression, an increase of more than 18% between 2005 and 2015.
